When uploading your documents to legal-i, the system automatically searches for duplicates. This can occur, for example, with longer PDF files that already contain a summary of your case.

Where can I find the duplicates?

If you want to view all documents that have been identified as duplicates of another, simply click on "With duplicates" in the lower left sidebar. This will show you all documents for which at least one duplicate has been detected.

How do I check if it's actually a duplicate?

When a document is recognized as a duplicate of another, the additional duplicates are not displayed by default. However, beneath the original document, you'll find the option to check the detected duplicates.

Next, a comparison opens between the original document (on the left side) and the document that was identified as a duplicate (on the right side).

When you hover over the duplicate with your mouse, you now have three options from left to right:

  1. You can mark the document as the original document.

  2. You can compare it with the original document.

  3. You can select that this document is not a duplicate.

What do I see in the document comparison?

When you compare a document that has been identified as a duplicate with the original document, all detected differences are highlighted in color. This gives you a quick overview of whether it's actually a duplicate or not.

How do I mark a document as a duplicate in the document list?

Step-by-step:

  1. Click on the three dots to the right of the document you want to mark as a duplicate.

  2. Select "Mark duplicates of this document."

  3. Select all documents that you have identified as duplicates.

  4. Confirm your selection at the top of the document list.
